LearningLeaders and the Oxford Union are delighted to announce the opening of registration for the East Asia round of the International

Competition for Young Debaters (ICYD) 2022.

ICYD East Asia: Saturday 26^th - Sunday 27^th March 2022

Up to six teams will qualify from this qualifier for the ICYD Finals to be held in the Oxford Union in late April as a hybrid online-offline competition.

Use this form to register and pay once per team.

Eligibility: In order to participate in the Oxford ICYD Asia Qualifier:

· Both debaters must be aged 15 or under as of August 31^st 2022.

· Both debaters must be students from the same school.

Please do not register your team if you do not meet both these requirements.

Format: Online , Modified British Parliamentary: 5-minute speeches, 15-minutes prep.

Registration deadline: Friday 18^th March

Registration fee: RMB400 per team (register and pay once only per team).

ICYD Qualification: The Oxford ICYD Finals will take place on April 23^rd 2022 as a hybrid online-offline competition. Up to six teams will qualify from this qualifier, depending on the final size of the tournament. We will confirm the number of qualifiers with participants after registration has closed.

Tournament area: ICYD East Asia is open to students in any of the following countries and territories.

Cambodia, China, Hong Kong SAR, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Macau SAR, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan (China), Thailand, Vietnam.
