SYNPOSIS: Based on the best-selling novel by Canadian author Miriam Toews, Women Talking was written and directed by Canadian filmmaker Sarah Polley. It follows a group of women in an isolated religious colony that discover a shocking secret about the colony's men. Featuring riveting, emotionally complex performances from a stunning ensemble cast, Women Talking is a drama of harrowing revelations, fraught alliances, and the search for grace. Women Talking premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). Sarah Polley received the Academy Award for Best Writing (Adapted Screenplay) for the film in 2023
