Yang Yi is the co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of JustPod, China's leading podcast and digital audio company founded in 2018. Over the past five years, Yi has seen the changes in media and how media shape the world. In this live talk, Yi will share about the flagship of JustPod programmes, creative initiatives led by JustPod to boost their readership and businesses, and how a journalism podcast carries out commercial practices.

About the speaker

Over the past five years, Yi has produced and edited many critically acclaimed audio content. He has worked with This American Life producing audio story, and Left-Right, a Mandarin cultural-themed conversational podcast he co-founded in 2018. The podcast is JustPod's flagship and has been named "The Best" of Apple Podcasts for four consecutive years. In 2018, Yi co-founded JustPod, established the largest podcast network in China, and worked with clients such as Nike, McDonald's, BASF, LinkedIn, Giada, Airbnb, Starbucks, NBA, MINI, and The Economist to create branded podcasts and integrate podcast advertising campaigns. He introduced "NPR's Podcast Start Up Guide" to China and revised the Chinese version of the book.

Yi is currently the host of Go LIVE, a podcast about the changes in media and how the media shapes our world. He is also the chief editor of the first newsletter focusing on the Chinese podcast industry and launched PodFest China, the first podcast-themed conference in China.

Before entering the audio field, Yi worked in television journalism for eight years. He served as senior editor at China Business Network (CBN, Yicai) and was part of the team for the network's primetime newscast, CBN Tonight, which won the 25th China News Award.
