拾萬空间将在2021年5月22日带来艺术家刘聪的绘画作品展。本次展览的作品强调一种去文学化的“直觉”，它们不基于个人化和修辞性的“感受”，更像是一场有意的感官本能实验。艺术家因此放弃掉物象的象征意味，以自身的动作传导画面，并尽量让“知觉”结束在画面之前。于是，主观的情绪被抽至真空，绘画动作最终凝聚出画面的“质感”。

这也由此引申出了本次展览的主题：“复身”（Double ）。“复身”一体两面，既是形式，也是内容，有时互为一体，有时相隔千里。刘聪即以此逻辑原点出发，在自我识别、屏蔽甚或对抗中，等待意义的发生。

本次展览将持续至7月3日。

刘聪，1987年生于山东。2010毕业于中央美术学院油画系，现工作生活于北京。近年个展包括：“复身”，拾萬空间，北京（2021）；“重置”，墨方，北京（2019）；“回音”，NUOARET，北京（2018）；“取景框”，方音空间，北京（2015）；“照-见”，大碗岛画廊，北京（2014）。

Liu Cong: Double

Hunsand Space will present an exhibition of artist Liu Cong’s paintings on May 22, 2021. The works in this exhibition neither emphasize an "intuition" that eliminates literary imaginations, nor grounded on personalized and rhetorical "feelings", but more akin to an intentional experiment of instinctive senses. The artist thus abandons the symbolic meaning of the objects, and adopts his gesture as means of conveying the image, while attempts to conclude the “senses” before the works on canvas. As a result, by abstracting one’s subjective feelings and emotions, the gestures of painting encapsulate in the “texture” of the painted works.

With this notion, this exhibition revolves around the subject of "Double," which embodies both form and content, at times integrated into one, in other cases, in disparate ends. Departing with logical point of origin, Liu Cong anticipates the arrival of meaning in a process of self-discovery, selection or even confrontation.

This exhibition will be on view until July 3.

Liu Cong, 1987 Born in Shandong Province, 2010 Graduated from Oil Painting Department of China Central Academy of Fine Arts. Currently lives and works in Beijing. Recent solo exhibitions include: Double, Hunsand Space, Beijing(2021); RESTTING, MOCUBE, Beijing(2019); Time in Reflection, NUOART Gallery, Beijing(2018); View-finder, F-FINE Gallery, Beijing(2015); Reflect&See, Bowl Island Gallery, Beijing(2014).

拾萬空间于2014年成立于草场地艺术区211号院，并在2018年迁至798艺术区。拾萬空间对常规意义的方盒子展览保持警惕，意欲从当代艺术语言中的语法和语意结构出发并将之延展到更广泛的领域；希望通过持续的展览和项目，激发出当下文化中被忽视的部分，将当代艺术思想的价值生发到你我的身边。

Hunsand Space is founded in 2014, in No. 211 Caochangdi Art District, and is relocated to the 798 Art Zone in 2018. In keeping vigilance with the conventional ways of presenting art exhibitions in white cubes, Hunsand Space aims to take the semantics and syntax from the language of contemporary art as a point of departure and expand them into a broader field. Through its vigorous programs of exhibitions and projects, it hopes to stimulate the overlooked aspects in contemporary culture and brings the values of contemporary art into our lives.
