It is with great excitement that we would like to invite you to the Educational Theatre Association of China’s Regional Young Thespian Festival in Wuxi on 28 and 29 November 2020. This event is presented in collaboration with ENREACH Wuxi and Nanwai King’s College School Wuxi Expressive Arts Department.

我们非常高兴地邀请您参加 2020 年 11 月 28 日至 29 日在无锡举行的中国地区青年戏剧节。本次活动由无锡英锐教育和无锡南外国王国际学校艺术与表现部门合作举办。

At the EdTA China Wuxi Young Thespian Festival middle and high school students will come to study and celebrate different theatrical art forms. The focus of the festival is mainly educational and as a result students, teachers and parents are presented with opportunities to deepen their understanding of theatre and to build out their own skill sets.

在中国无锡 EDTA 青年戏剧节上，学生将以不同的戏剧艺术形式来学习和庆祝。艺术节的重点是教育，因此，学生、教师和家长将有机会加深对戏剧的了解，建立和磨练自己的技能。

Students in grade 6 and above will have the opportunity to participate in either monologues, duologues, Chinese scenes, English scenes, musical theatre, or theatre design. On the first day of the festival they will be grouped with a theatre professional where they will be taught various performance and design skills that pertain to their category. On Sunday they will present their performances or designs for a spot in the Grand Finale on stage.

六年级及以上的学生将有机会参加单人独白剧、双人情景剧、中国场景、英语场景、音乐剧或设计挑战赛。在艺术节的第一天（周六），学生将会在导师的指导下进行分组，在那里他们将会学习到各种与专业类别相关的表演和设计技能和技巧。在艺术节的第二天（周日），学生将在总决赛的舞台上展示他们的表演或设计成果。

For anyone aged 9 and above there will be workshops presented throughout Saturday and Sunday. Workshops provide the participants with the opportunity to engage in discussion with theatre professionals, explore and acquire new drama skills or get updated with the latest international education and Drama trends. It normally lasts for 1 hour, and could take on the form of informative sessions, lectures, or participatory events.

对于任何 9 岁及以上的人，将在整个周六和周日举办戏剧工坊。戏剧工坊为参与者提供了与戏剧专业人士进行讨论、探索和获得新戏剧技能和了解最新国际教育和戏剧趋势的机会。它通常持续 1 小时，可以采取信息会议，讲座，或参与性活动的形式。

竞赛单元

单人独白剧:单人独白剧是指单人独白，是由选手在已发表的作品或剧本中，挑选适合自己并表演的剧目。作为英文戏剧的其中一种表现形式，单人独白是由一个演员独自展示并完成的表演。选手将使用身体上、心理上的和情感上的各种戏剧技巧，向观众讲述一个故事，并使观众能够清楚地了解所表达的内容。单人独白剧的参赛选手将在一位戏剧专业人员的指导下准备一段两分钟的独白，并在艺术节的第二天呈现给大家。

Monologues: A monologue is a speech taken from a play that is performed by one player wherein the character expresses her/his thoughts and feelings aloud or where the character directly addresses another character or the audience. Participants in this category will be guided by a theatre practitioner to prepare a two-minute monologue which will need to be memorised and performed on day two of the festival.

双人情景剧: 双人情景剧，是由两名参赛选手共同合作并表演的一段节选自剧本的情景。选手们将使用身体上、心理上的和情感上的各种戏剧技巧，向观众讲述一个故事，并使观众能够清楚地了解所表达的内容。双人情景剧的参赛选手将在一位戏剧专业人员的指导下准备一段三分钟的二重唱，并在艺术节的第二天呈现给大家。

Duologues: A duologue is a passage/scene taken from a play that is only performed by two players. Participants in this category will be guided by a theatre practitioner to prepare a three-minute duologue which will need to be memorised and performed on day two of the festival.

中英文场景剧: 出于戏剧节的本身意义考量，任何类型的已发行戏剧：有明确的开头，中间和结尾的作品，从中节选的四人场景都可以被称作场景剧。中英文场景剧的参赛选手将在一位戏剧专业人员的指导下准备一段五分钟的场景表演，并在艺术节的第二天呈现给大家。

English and Chinese Scenes: For the purposes of this festival, a scene will be recognized as a dialogue between four people taken from a published play of any genre that has a clear beginning, middle, and end. Participants in this category will be guided by a theatre practitioner to prepare a five-minute scene which will need to be memorised and performed on day two of the festival.

音乐剧: 音乐剧包括表演、舞蹈和歌唱。这类参赛选手将用表演、歌唱和舞蹈的形式演出一段3分钟的音乐剧节选。音乐剧参赛选手将在表演、舞蹈和歌唱方面专业人员的指导下准备他们的表演作品，并在艺术节的第二天呈现给大家。

Musical Theatre: Musical theatre includes acting, dancing, and singing. Participants in this category will be expected to act, sing, and dance a 3-minute excerpt from a published musical. Participants in this category will be guided by acting, dancing, and singing professionals to prepare their performance piece which will need to be memorised and performed on day two of the festival.

设计挑战赛：设计挑战赛不会涉及表演或演技:Only Designing！剧院设计囊括服装、化妆、布景、灯光和声音。参赛选手将为周日决赛的场景设计简单的服装、化妆、道具和电子背景。设计挑战赛的参赛选手将由服装、化妆和摄影录制方面的专业设计师指导。

Design Challenge: There will be no performance or acting in this category ‒ only designing! Design in theatre can pertain to costume, make-up, set, lighting, and sound. Participants in this category will be expected to design simple costume, make-up, props, and electronic backdrops for the scenes which will perform in the final on Sunday. Participants in this category will be guided by professional designers in costume, make-up, and AV/photography.

戏剧工坊：主办方将邀请多位戏剧专家及戏剧教育专业人士，在戏剧节期间就参赛主题举办戏剧工坊。讲座通常持续1小时，并采用信息交流、讲座或参与式活动的形式。戏剧工坊旨在为9岁及以上的参加者提供与戏剧专业人士讨论、探索、获得新戏剧技能、了解最新国际教育和戏剧趋势的机会。

Workshop：Various theatre experts and drama education professionals will be invited by the organiser to present a workshop on a subject matter of their choice during the festival. Workshops normally last for 1 hour, and could take on the form of informative sessions, lectures, or participatory events. Workshops provide the participants aged 9 and above with the opportunity to engage in discussion with theatre professionals, explore and acquire new drama skills or get updated with the latest international education and Drama trends.
