External customers are outside theenterprise. The relationship between the enterprise and external customerstakes many forms:

Business-to-Business (B2B), such asan enterprise software vendor providing a payroll solution
Business-to-Professional (B2P), suchas a software vendor who sells graphic design tools to marketing professionals
Business-to-Consumer (B2C), such as asoftware vendor that sells home design tools to homeowners

Scaled Agile Product Solution Management

Solution Management is responsiblefor defining and supporting the building of desirable, feasible, viable, andsustainable large-scale business solutions that meet customer needs.

Those responsible for this functionachieve this by collaborating with a wide range of people to identify anddefine customer needs, understand the Solution Context, and develop theSolution Vision, Solution Roadmap, and the Capabilities required to meet them.Working with Solution Architect/Engineering, Solution Management aligns theSolution Train’s ARTs and Suppliers on what to build and how to build it byestablishing the Solution Intent repository. They also play a critical role insolution train events including Pre- and Post-PI planning, Solution and SystemDemos, Solution Train Sync, and the ART and solution train Inspect and Adapt(I&A) Workshops.
