What makes the food of the Caribbean islands so unique? Is it the incredibly diverse list of food cultures it fuses together? African, Creole, Cajun, Amerindian, European, Latin American, Indian/South Asian, Middle Eastern, and Chinese food. Is it the brilliant, innovative and passionate chefs it’s produced? Master chef, Lilian Molina, your gracious guide to a new world of flavour. Or is it just the fact that this island paradise is a slice of heaven with an unparalleled joie de vivre? Let’s cook together, let’s eat and drink together and let’s find out!

Chef Lilian is the pioneer of the Caribbean food scene in Shanghai. She created the 501 Group which focuses training in the culinary arts and consulting for top F&B brands. She’s a friendly, brilliant and multi-talented chef with experience around the world and she’ll be with you every step of the way as we cook a meal you’ll never forget and you’ll even be able to recreate on your own!

In this interactive cooking workshop held at Ciecas cooking school, an enormous, highly professional and fully functional chef-training facility with everything a restauranteur can ever need, chef Lilian will prepare with you a vibrant fish dish with influences from three of the most well-known Caribbean countries. And to make it all go down smoother, you’ll also be making a colorful and refreshing summer rum punch. This will be amazing!

Your main course will consist of:

Mango cucumber chow (Trinidad)

Pan-fried sweet plantain (Cuba)

Lemongrass Escovitch-stuffed fried fish (Jamaica)

Refreshing summer rum punch

Of course, the famous Caribbean coconut rice and beans

You’ll work like a professional, guided by a professional from start to finish. You’ll learn about proper cleaning, preparation, cooking and presentation. And then you’ll eat and drink together like the queens and kings that you are!
